BACK FROM HWA CHONG'S BIKE HIKE 2010 'ACCELEBRATION'!!!!!!!!
:DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

I've never been more than happy to see East Coast Park again this morning!
My butt hurts, my back hurts, I'm feeling very tired right now.
But it's okay!
Cause yesterday was fun, even though I got cranky during the last half of the hike.
This shows how much I need sleep! :X

Okay, started of yesterday by going to Pasir Ris Park with Xiao Mama, Daffy, the Tweetys and Obama.
Zhenghao and Yude cheated us larhhs!
One say haven't reach, the other phone no batt.
LIKE REAL.
In the end make us walk here and there and everywhere.
-.=
But okay larhhs,
we were late, so perhaps that was our "punishment".
Well, at least according to Zhenghao and Yude.

Then, after reaching Pasir Ris Park,
we sought for D'space, the main reason why we were there in the first place.
So we walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked and walked and walked...
Until we reached the map.
Then after locating D'space, we walked and walked and walked and walked again.
Till we reached the place.
AND IT WAS SMALL.
D:
So we started discussing whether or not we can use it for the camp,
but we haven't reached a conclusion.
Busy busy~

THEN I REALIZED I WAS LATE IN MEETING JOPING D:
So we faster went to the bus-stop
(P.S. EELYN AND I WON THE RACE TO THE BUS-STOP!!!!! :DD)
and waited for the bus for 10-15mins!! :O
The bus was a slowpoke!!!!!!
Okay, then the bus came and we boarded the bus.
LOL, pretty obvious.
And by the time we boarded the MRT,
it was around 5 o'clock, the time I'm supposed to meet Joping :P
LATE LATE LATE LATE LATE.

So Joping waited for around 15mins at Aljunied,
where I met her at 5.30pm.
We went to 慈航 to have dinner
(I ate 鱼柳饭 while Joping ate 黄梨炒饭; delicious food on the table! :D)
and then we went to Eunos to meet Huiqi.
She was quite late, LOL!
But okay larhhs,
time passed by quite quickly when Joping and I were talking.
When Huiqi reached, we went to the bus-stop to take bus 13, where we met quite a number of people going for the bike hike too. (:

(fast forward)
We met Joshua (Mr. President ;)), his friends, OAC seniors and our instructors, Rayna and Rebecca, near ECP Carpark C.
We took attendance and miscellaneous stuff before going to BK to sit down.
LOL, and we had to sign EIGHT pages for attendance! :@
Okay, then we went BK, where Huiqi was reading The Economist (OMG?!?!??!) and I was reading 三毛's 《撒哈拉的故事》(VERY NICE BOOK :DDDDDDDDDDD)

OKAY this is stupid.
I've blogged about the not so relevant stuff and now I just feel like sleeping again.
Wait for Part 2, the more interesting part! (;

Saturday, May 22, 2010 6:59 PM
Haha,
long weekend was not deserved;
I only READ through my econs notes,
and nothing for GP :O
How nice.

But study break was awesome!
No school :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

But for people like me, at least,
we shouldn't get breaks like these :/
Slacked through the whole weekend,
supposed to be studying but blogging now.
Hee.

Anyway,
ytd was gxy's Vesak Day celebration.
I was the emcee, with Bowlie,
and my mum's opinion of my performance was...
cartoon.
LOL!!

I agree, partially ;]

I kept forgetting the lines,
and at parts I had to reread the line before I said it.
Very annoying to the audience, I know.
SORRY Y'ALL!!

But it really was a last minute thing.
Bowlie and me only finished the script on FRIDAY,
a day before the celebration.
I'm pretty sure we're one of the most last minute emcees one can imagine.
Chen laoshi told us we'll be emcees about a month ago! :@

But overall,
it was quite successful, the celebration.
What I think anyway.
The kids were really really really adorable,
CUTE TTM!! :DD
I was rather proud of 居士林儿童班 too.
Despite all the unwillingness to learn the songs and the 手语,
they have put up a convincing performance that made people 另眼相看 ;D
Not bad huh?

Okay, then after that,
we went for this 'Prince of Peace Birthday Concert',
and I think the band there, The Truth, is one of the most successful bands that made Buddhist music completely like a genre for teens!
Too bad Joey wasn't there :(
She would have loved it.

OH YEAH.
AND JOEY CHOONG IS BACK BACK BACK!! :DDDDD
Her hair is much shorter
(but apparently it's longer than when she went up. Oh well.)
but she still looks the same! :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Awww,
miss her loads!
She went for a month and a half,
and that's a REAL REAL REAL long time,
longer than I've been there before.
Oh, and in case you don't know what I'm talking about,
it's KUCHING :DD

Haish,
been thinking about that place a lot these few days.
hwaleng jj, lai laoshi, lei laoshi (though not so much, hee), miaofang jj...
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE,
MISS THEM A LOT!

PENGUIN LEE CHINGYEE TOO!
Lucky we'll be meeting her soon,
if not next week then on her CO concert itself ;DD
YAY!

Don't know when can I (we) go back to Kuching :( :( :(
SOON SOON SOON SOON SOON I hope :]

LOL,
I'm digressing.

Okay,
so the Prince of Peace Birthday Concert was awesome not only cause of The Truth,
but the people from 古晋居士林 as well!!
I doubt that any of them were the ones that 上山ed and participated in our 生活营,
but it's nice to see people from Kuching after so long!!

Gosh,
I sound like a homesick idiot.
Haas.

Econs and GP CT tmr,
hope I don't die too badly
and hope I get AT LEAST Bs for both.
AT LEAST.

WISH ME LUCK!
-choon. bootslander that's trying not to procrastinate and STUDY FOR CTs!! (;

[EDIT]
OMG, I totally forgot why I wanted to blog!!
I WANNA WATCH THESE SHOWS AFTER TMR'S CT:

Coffee House
Personal Taste
Cinderella Sister
败犬女王
Monga

Quite a lot :X
But since the hols are coming...
heheheheheheheheh. ;D
[/EDIT]

My mum was right. Again.
What's yours will be yours; what's not never will be.
So just let it go.
And I'm persuading myself to think this way :]

Haha,
as expected (sorta),
I didn't make it for Interact exco.
But though a little disappointed,
a little shocked,
a little paralyzed,
I'm still happy for those who got in.
(:

Even though I can't say I know all of them really well,
Tiffany, Madeline and Bernadette were the three I thought would make very good excos,
and I'm happy the Rotarians, teachers and the senior excos think this way too.
Oh, and Margaret too, of course!
And Chandel!
All of whom I'm happy happy that they made it to being excos.
(:

But I don't really know Xiao Jun and Si Hui that well,
so I can't say much.
I was pretty impressed by Si Hui's speech though :]
Din't get to hear Xiao Jun's.
But since she's Xiao Bingbing's good friend,
it should be a right choice, I guess. :]

Huh.
But after this experience
(and I learnt a lot ;))
I feel a little...
not say sad, but...
out of place?

Perhaps I should really get started on a healthy lifestyle.

My resolution:
-Get fitter (better stamina, better figure, better jumping skills)
-Get academically better (revise more, understand more, analyse and think more)
-Get back into my religious routine I once had eons ago (read scriptures, copy them out if possible, revise everyday)

Boy,
am I glad I didn't get into exco,
just looking at this list.

LECK CHOON LING,
GARA GARA GO!!
-bootslandiist that is reminding herself that she's a lucky kid and things will turn out well, just like how she narrated in her indescribable speech that turned out so wrong.
Friday, April 30, 2010 6:04 AM
OMG OMG OMG,
before I even start blogging about real stuff,
WATCH THIS MV!! :DD

It's too cute!

:DD
I LOVE THIS MV AND SONG MAN (no pun intended)!!
Kim Hyun Joong and Jung Ryeo Won are just TOO CUTE!!!!
:DDDDD

Okay,
after my spazzing,
time to start blogging about my life.

Well, these few days there wasn't much.
Just that...

WE JUST FINISHED OUR INTERACT EXCO-ELECT BONDING PROJECT,
EXCO-ELECTS NEED TO WRITE AND GIVE A SPEECH ON 14TH MAY,
MY DAD FINALLY SIGNED MY TAIWAN IMMERSION PROGRAMME CONSENT FORM
AND I MAY ACTUALLY GET A PERMANENT JOB TEACHING PIANO.

Oh,
and plus,
(this is really really good news that I don't think I've shared on my blog before)
I GOT A MERIT IN MY DIPLOMA LCM :DD
SHORT OF 1 MARK TO DISTINCTION!! :DDDDD
OMG,
I'M SO HAPPY ABT THIS LARHHS!
I THOUGHT AT FIRST I'LL FAIL AND IN THE END I GOT A MERIT!!
:DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

I totally thought my piano teacher was kidding when she told me this lorhhs.
I mean, even SHE thought I would be her first student to fail diploma.
How ironic is this that I GOT A MERIT?!
AND ONE MARK AWAY FROM DISTINCTION TOO!

Okay, that aside
(happy happy!)
my mum discussed with my piano teacher to get my a piano teaching job.
So Ms Soh signed me up,
and now it's left to me to decide whether to sign the 1-year contract or not.
I think I'm gonna do it though;
by next year I most probably won't be able to do it already.
A's.
:(

Then this Wednesday was my exco-elect group's bonding project.
It went okay, I guess,
but we probably could do MUCH MUCH MUCH better.
And it rained again, of all times.
Like we don't have enough problems about the small turn-up for the project.

We had allocated 6 groups for the "amazing race",
according to the name list given to us by the excos.
Lo and behold, only people enough for 2 groups turned up.
But it's not too bad, really.
Considering the scale of the project,
a bigger group will KILL us, I think.
There are just too many people in Interact!
If everyone came,
and that's including the SH2s too,
we'll have over a 100 people to direct, instruct, anticipate and organize.
That'll be A LOT A LOT A LOT of work, I'm not kidding.
Plus, it was a school day too,
with a lot of people having CCA after school and extra lessons.
There wasn't really much space we could work with,
and since my group was doing station games,
we NEEDED space desperately.

Anyway,
there were hiccups here and there,
but other than those it went rather okay I think.
While waiting for people to come to Hongcat and my station,
we drew on masking tape and pasted them on our shirts.
:DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Now I know why people like to do that;
it's completely addictive!
When my dad pass me the photos I shall upload on facebook(:

To exco-elect group 1:
I LOVE YOU GUYS!!
It was great fun working with you,
even though not everything went quite right,
IT WAS STILL A JOB WELL DONE!! :DD
After going through so much with you all,
I'm sure we'll become better friends still.
;DD
Group 1 FTW!! :DDDDD

Okay,
then today was exco-elect group 2's bonding project.
Their's was a party,
and it was fun!
Much more interactive between group members,
and I felt it created more chances for bonding between members,
even though I didn't really talk much, nor give a lot of ideas.
I think I must overcome this shy thing though;
it's like, I don't feel comfortable in speaking up,
although I know I MUST.
I hate being shy among big groups,
especially if there are seniors around.
The side effects of traditional Chinese education;
you feel like you have to show respect to seniors to the point where you become stuck in this box where nothing feels right when you talk around 'em.

When they had the 'Don't Forget the Lyrics' segment,
I was almost SURE that they'll play Big Bang or C.N.Blue or something.
These are the only two Korean groups (other than Epik High) that have better English pronunciation?
In the end, 'Sorry Sorry' came out instead.
Not too bad, but I really didn't know the lyrics.
Luckily I didn't go up :]
Bravo to Jia Yi!
She's so brave uh,
going up like that.

I don't really wanna go into detail so much,
partly cause there's really not a need to,
and partly cause I'm going to sleep soon.
But I must say,
Group 2 definitely had a better thing going on than my group did.
It was much more exciting and interesting and fun.
BUT still.
GROUP1 FTW!!

Ugh,
wanted to write out my speech and prepare the powerpoint slides,
but spent too much time blogging and surfing the net.
I'll have to do them tomorrow then!
AND MY ASEAN POSITION PAPERS.
OMG.
A long weekend isn't as much as a long weekend than a study leave to finish overdue homework.
-bootslandiist.choon that really really really needs time to finish stuff right now.
Friday, April 16, 2010 11:27 PM
WHEW~
Back from OAC Night Hike 2010!! :DD
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTS~

It was a long, but fun night(:

After CLL ended ytd
(OMG, we did a composition ytd AND I LEFT A LOT OF BLANKS CAUSE I DIDN'T BRING MY DICTIONARY AND I DUNNO HOW TO WRITE THE WORDS! D:)
I went home, WANTING to sleep.
In the end, when I got home...

I watched television.
I messaged people (mainly Joping :)).
I used the comp to take down information about the Night Hike.

So...
I didn't get to sleep.
Paid for it later this morning, at the "second half" of the Night Hike.
I'll elaborate later.
(:

I met Joping at J8 at around 6 plus
(I was late!! AGAIN!! Oops.)
and we went for dinner at the foodcourt.
I couldn't find the vegetarian stall!
Did it close down?!
Okay anyway,
I bought Kimchi Fried Rice :D
It's the best korean dish, EVER.
Deliciously yummy(:
Joping bought pepper lunch,
then we ate and talked and ate and talked.
Chatted about loads of stuff,
nice to catch up with her after so long(:
(She has practically skipped every OAC session in the past two weeks!)
Hope she gets into council!!
I think almost all of the OACians voted for her.
:DDDDD

Okay,
then after dinner,
we went to NTUC cause Joping wanted to buy snacks for the hike.
HAHA, we kept laughing about random stuff!!
It's like a laughing marathon, totally.
In the end,
cause of my lack of $$ at the present,
Joping lent me $4.50 to buy 'Meiji Gummy Choco Peach'(:
I love this candy/ chocolate/ whatever!!
It's taste is oh so sweet ;DD
But actually cause Joping owes me $8.50 for the informal OAC tee,
she still has to pay me $4 :]
Oops.

My dad came to bring us to Macritchie after that.
It was only 10 minutes, no kidding!
I thought my father was trying to be funny when he told me from J8 to Mac is only 10mins.
:X

I requested $$ from my dad,
JUST IN CASE I'm having breakfast tomorrow morning with fellow OACians the next day,
but turns out I didn't need it.
TOO TIRED TO GO FOR BREAKFAST, lol.

Anyway,
turns out that Joping and I were super early,
having reached at around 8pm when our reporting time is 8.30pm.
So we slacked around at the tables and said hi to Abilash, Daniel and Daniel(:
Then we went to explore the toilet.
IT'S SO COOL, the toilet!
It's green and BIG and SPACIOUS,
and the showers are the pull-down kind.
And there are MANY MANY MANY cubicles!
(Actually I dunno why is this so fascinating, but really is.)
And and and.
The sink is the Malaysia kind!
Or rather, the kind that I never see in Singapore but is common in Malaysia.
(:

Then,
Trish and Luke gave us fortune cookies
(I dunno for what, lol? But it's kinda fun :))
and mine went something like...
Work hard and you'll eventually get your rewards or something.
Along that line larhhs.
Joping got something like 'Head the advice of elders and all will be fine'
and we were like, "HUH?!"
Haha.

Slowly, many people started drifting in.
Then we found out that our timing is DELAYED.
:O
My group, OAC Group 3, is scheduled to start at 11.20pm.
:O :O :O
So in the end we went to Yi Ting's house after buying ice cream from Icekimo.
The shop is so cute!
Potentially Baskin Robbins/ LG Cyon Ice Cream commercial cute!
:D
And Yi Ting lives in this condominium that looks so vintage!!
Or rather, victorian.
Anyway,
we sat around at the playground and talked.
And swinged.
:DDDDD
There are two swings in the playground!
And Yi Ting is super pro at it sia.
She swung so high everyone was stunned.
Hui Qi even tried to win her at it!
But Yi Ting was much better at swinging than Hui Qi.
Shows that Yi Ting practices everyday! ;DD

We went back at around 10.40pm.
Group 2 started their night hike immediately,
while us Group 3 waited awhile.
Joshua wore these really cool glow in the dark specs :DD
Everybody tried them on,
and I think I looked really toot in them.
(:

THEN WE STARTED OUR NIGHT HIKE :DD

Our first clue directed us to the zig-zag bridge.
Zi Kai and Aleron were at the first station.
SCARY!
Especially Aleron, sicne he's rather good in acting
(What I think anyway :P)
So when they suddenly pounced at us
(literally!)
we jumped in surprise.
Eek.

They were there discussing whether or not we are zombies
then concluded that we may be humans.
HAHA.
Of course we were humans!
But Joshua said we are all infected by the zombie virus so we were infected humans.
So...
I'M A HALF-ZOMBIE! (;
Then we proceeded on to the zig-zag bridge for our first station.

We had to blindfold ourselves with a slip from a trash bag and cross the bridge without touching the sides.
The person at the end of our line
(I think it's Wen Yi?)
directed us here there and everywhere.
He was shouting out __degrees to your right and stuff and it was hilarious!
I mean, how can you even measure how many degrees you are turning,
blindfolded?!
But it was funny all the same.
:DDDDD

Oh and did I mention?
Wen Yi brought this power torch that people use for rescues and stuff.
Super cool.
And super BIGGGGG! :D

Then all I remember next is walking a lot.
Trekking here, trekking there;
Hiking here, hiking there.
From one station to the other.
From this place to the next.

Shall I elaborate next time?
I've got my PI, my math, my CLL, my history and my econs 13(a) corrections.
:(
-bootslandiist who should go do her homework right now.
Tuesday, April 6, 2010 3:58 AM
Hey, saw this interesting tweet and decided to go check out the link and...
VOILA~ THIS INTERESTING... THING.
(:

To create, a person must
  • Have knowledge but forget the knowledge;
  • See unexpected connections in things but not have a mental disorder;
  • Work hard but spend time doing nothing;
  • Create many ideas yet most of them are useless;
  • Look at the same thing as everyone else, yet see something different;
  • Desire success but learn how to fail;
  • Be persistent but not stubborn; and,
  • Listen to experts but know how to disregard them.
http://ow.ly/1v2ye

Nice huh?
:DD
-bootslandiist
Friday, April 2, 2010 12:28 AM
I feel guilty :/
Why?
CAUSE I HAVEN'T BLOGGED SINCE FEB17, that's why :/

BUT AT LEAST!
I'm here now(:

Been about a month since we had our OFFICIAL classes, timetables and CCAs(:
To sum it all up, IT HAS BEEN A GREAT GREAT GREAT TIME!
I really like it here, at NJ :DD
The people are nice, the teachers are good... What more can I wish for? (:

And my class is getting to know each other quite well :D
We almost have drinking competitions every break, LOL!
Our form of class bonding is goofing around or playing 'I Never', but that's okay;
it's always fun being with them.

Like a blink of an eye,
IT'S ONE MONTH ALR.
How fast is that?
2010 is going to past very quickly!
With all the mugging, all the laughing, all the slacking around...
I think it'll be 2011 in no time! :D

Gosh, after tweeting so much,
I think I've lost my linking ability alr.
And attained more randomness than anyone can imagine.

Hmmm.
What else should I talk about?

OKAY I KNOW.

http://www.zath.co.uk/lg-intouch-max-gw620-review/

I WANT A LG GW620!!
WHO WANTS TO BUY FOR ME?!?!?!?!

My dad refusees to :(
He says I'm not smart enough to use a smartphone -.=
BUT I WANT A LG GW620!!
DOES ANYONE GET IT?!?!?!?!??!!?!?!?!?!?!?!

lol.
Okay, I know I'm pushing it.
But I do want a smartphone, or at least a side slider phone
(with complete qwerty keyboard)
:( :( :(
But I have no money.
I want Unlimited SMSes too, but apparently, I can't change my plan.
Just great.
-.=

OH, AND SOME RANDOMNESS!
EPIK HIGH'S RUN IS TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!
The MV is really really really cool too!
The male lead of the MV
(Is it the same one that acted in Bom's 'You and I' MV?!?!?
Someone please enlighten me here!!)
looks cute :DD

Here's the MV:

Okay, but that's beside the point.
The point is...
IT'S A REALLY REALLY REALLY GREAT SONG!!
I think I may start to like Epik High,
after hearing it so many times but never really knowing how they sound like.
(:
Well, now I do,
so time to give their songs a testing!!
(: (: (:

What other random stuff can I say?

I KNOW!!
I went to Rivervale Mall this morning with my parents.
I wasn't really hungry, but I ate anyway.
AND LAI LAOSHI FROM NCHS CAME AND SAT AT THE SAME TABLE
(but at a different section, obviously)
LOL.

Okay,
then we went up to Daiso, where I bought a notebook to store vocabulary words
(I need to stock up you know; practice a little bit of hoarding for my GP ;D)
and some files to keep my lecture notes.
I wanted to buy a lot of other stuff,
but decided against it.

Firstly, I have no money.

Secondly, if I squandered away my money like that,
WHEN WILL I GET MY LG GW620???

Thirdly, I have to pass money to Emily tmr.

But I wanted that long long blackboard :(
And the containers to put my accessories :( :(
And that really really nice file that I could use to keep my notebooks! :( :( :(
Haish.
Being poor is a sad thing you know.
:( :( :( :( :(

HAHA,
suddenly thought of Econs: Limited resources but unlimited wants.
:DDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Econs is so fun can?
I think I'm starting to like econs more and more.
It's such a fun subject!! :D

Rank of subjects
(according to fun-ness and interesting-ness and my like-ness)

1) CLL (Can you believe it? :D)
2) History
3) PW
4) Econs
5) Math
6) GP

Okay, I like English and all...
BUT GP IS BORING.
B-O-R-I-N-G!
So how am I gonna survive this?
:(

Oh, and I found something else I can rant about.
PW!! :DD

Haha, I've done my PI and submitted it.
Hope I get it back on Monday!
I'm so excited!
And I hope it passed; I don't wanna redo it again! :/

PW is actually really fun,
cause how can projects be not fun?
Imagine you get to interview people wth legitimate reasons,
learn more about stuff that is out of our lecture notes and
get to work in a team!
:DD

But all the work will really give you a headache though D:
Just a DRAFT and I'm so tired alr.

Okay, I found another something!
I just finished my DipLCM!! :DD
But I think I'm so dead with the Viva Voce and the Sight Reading.
I KNEW THE ANSWERS TO THE QUESTIONS,
but I didn't know the answers were the answers :/
Horrid.
And sight reading...
Ms Soh cheat my feelings!
Pass me an ABRSM Sight Reading book then tell me it will be something like that.
Made me panic sia,
all so difficult!
Then when the examiner passed me the score,
it was LIKE A GRADE 3/4 piece rather than a complicated piece that looks like Grade 8 -.=
I WAS SHOCKED.
And there was only a page!
But even though it was easy,
I messed up the second half.
I got the chord wrong half-way, then I panicked, and you know the rest of the story.
Hmph.
:(

I REALLY REALLY REALLY HOPE I PASS!!
If not I'll not only disappoint Ms Soh
(being the first ever student of hers to FAIL diploma)
my parents, my friends...
I'll disappoint MYSELF.
I don't wanna do that again.
:P

OKAY.
I think I've blogged enough already.
Perhaps I've blogged enough for a year alr ;D

JUST KIDDING!
-choon. crazy ditzy sleepy bootslandiist that is feeling really happy at this corner of Bootsland, where Ari-Toki comes out to play(:

(OH, AND GOOD NEWS!!
______ IS HERE IN SG ALR (if you know what I mean)!! :DDD)
